This wasn’t your usual NXT episode. Since there appear to be some scheduling conflicts over at Full Sail University at the moment, and since WWE is still coming off of their recent Takeover show in Houston, this episode of NXT was essentially a live event aired on the network. This week’s show took place in San Antonio. Nigel McGuinness was off of commentary this week, but he will be back next week. In the meantime, some fun matches took place on this show, including one fantastic fight involving the WWE UK wrestlers.
The Street Profits vs. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss –
Beloved as ever, The Street Profits came down to the ring and began to quickly lay waste to Tino and Riddick. Angelo Dawkins started the match off by taking on Moss, but the latter slipped out of the ring to avoid his offense. He took Dawkins down, but Angelo quickly fought back with a waistlock takedown as the crowd chanted “one more time.” He was happy to oblige. He gave Moss a scoop slam before making the tag to Montez Ford.

Montez goes after Tino with great speed immediately, but Into runs him down and begins to gloat rather than actually make the cover. Unsurprisingly, this gave Ford some time to recover as he performed a leapfrog and dropkick to get a near fall on Tino. The Street Profits dump Moss and Tino out of the ring. When Tino gets back in, he takes control of the match as he and Moss attack Ford in the corner. After wearing down Ford for a bit, Montez finally began to make a comeback against Tino.
He attempted to leap towards Dawkins and make the tag, but Riddick Moss was able to catch him and toss him into the corner, which sent them both down. Eventually, Tino and Angelo were both tagged in simultaneously.
Dawkins was able to hit spinning Stinger Splashes on Moss and Sabbatelli. He got a two count on Tino before Moss was able to break up the pin. At this point, Dawkins took on both of them for a while.
Tino and Moss nearly got an upset win after Dawkins tossed Moss outside of the ring. Moss was able to hit a forearm on Dawkins after he landed outside. Tino then went for a pin while Moss attempted to cheat by holding Dawkins’ feet down. The referee caught the interference, but he did not disqualify the team. Instead, the match continued, and Dawkins his a spinebuster before Ford connected with the Frog Splash to win.

Winners: The Street Profits
After defeating Johnny Gargano last week, Pete Dunne was met by Tyler Bate and Trent Seven backstage. The challenged Dunne to a tag team match for this week.
Bate and Seven are then interviewed backstage and Seven reminds fans of when Dunne did not help them as they were being attacked by The Undisputed Era a few weeks ago. Tyler Bate and Trent Seven then vowed to fight Dunne and Mark Andrews tonight and win. They play to play around with their mustaches for a bit before the segment ended.

Mark Andrews was then interviewed backstage. He revealed that he agreed to team up with Dunne tonight because he promised him a UK Championship match if they were successful.
Kairi Sane vs. Peyton Royce –
Billie Kay did not wrestle in this match, but she did stay in Royce’s corner throughout the match as usual. Immediately, Kairi goes for a roll up, but Royce powered out. The early stages of the match saw Royce continuously attempt to hit Sane, but the Mae Young Classic winner was way too quick for Royce to catch.
After a distraction from Billie Kay on the outside, Peyton finally connected with a spinning heel kick to get a close near fall. She attempted to go for her Fisherman’s Suplex finisher, but Sane countered it into a roll up.
Peyton fought out of it and began to hit Sane again. She kicked and punched her for a bit before Sane inevitably began to fight back. She hit a dropkick, went for the Insane Elbow but Royce prevented it from happening.Peyton countered with a knee for a two count.
Kairi then put the boots and forearms to her opponent. Billie Kay hopped up on the apron, but her interference barely even did anything to change the match as Sane swiftly bopped her back to the ground and hit the Insane Elbow on Royce to gain a victory.
Winner: Kairi Sane
After showing a video package highlighting their feud, it was announced that recent main roster debutees Ruby Riott and Sonya Deville will compete in a No Holds Barred match on NXT next week.
Drew McIntyre confirmed suspicions that he suffered an injury during his match against Andrade “Cien” Almas at Takeover. Bummer. Almas and Zelina Vega will be hosting a championship celebration ceremony next week to celebrate his NXT Championship win.
Tyler Bate & Trent Seven vs. Pete Dunne & Mark Andrews –
Everybody’s favorite lads from across the pond are back on NXT this week and they sure did deliver with this one. Nonstop action for the entirety of the match. It all began with “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne starting off the match with Tyler Bate. They charge after each other at first until Dunne tags in Mark Andrews, and he and Bate proceed to hit each with the lightning-fast offense that we know that they are capable of.
Seven tagged in and hit a top rope elbow smash on Andrews. When Andrews recovered, he worked over Seven, as did Dunne when he was tagged back in. This continued on for a bit as Andrews began to work the arm. Seven was able to fight back and get Andrews up, but Dunne tagged himself back in and hit the backstabber.
Andrews was tagged back in, but Dunne almost instantly tagged himself back into the match. Andrews seemed upset by this and this was when the seeds of dissension between the teammates were planted.
Regardless, the match continued on with Seven giving Dunne a lariat and finally making the hot tag to Tyler Bate. Bate came in like a house of fire as he charged after Dunne with a European Uppercut, Exploder Suplex, and a standing shooting star press to get a near fall on the champion. Andrews got back into the match and hit a double foot stomp and corkscrew on Bate. He went up top for some sort of move on Bate, but Dunne tagged himself in before he could hit it. With Dunne in the ring, Andrews (still on the top rope, mind you) gave Bate a Frankensteiner, which sent him directly into Dunne who, in turn, gave Bate a sitout powerbomb for another near fall.
Seven is back in the match now and Dunne has now refused to tag Mark Andrews back into the match. Tyler Bate nearly ended the match again until Mark Andrews broke up the pin. Bate hoisted Dunne up for the always impressive Deadlift German Suplex, but Andrews was able to make the tag before Bate hit the move on Dunne. Andrews went up top for a shooting star press and missed before being caught in the Airplane Spin by Tyler. Bate spins Andrews all around the ring, eventually passing by Dunne, which allows him to tag Andrews.
Dunne and Bate brawled for a bit until the latter managed to hit the champion with his Tyler Driver ’97 finishing maneuver. This was enough to secure a win for Mustache Mountain.
Winners: Tyler Bate & Trent Seven
After the match is over, Andrews goes over towards Dunne, presumably to show some sportsmanship to his fellow teammate. Dunne did not take too kindly to this and he layed Andrews out. His music began to play as the show went off the air, but before it did, Dunne attacked Andrews again, this time hitting him with the Bitter End.
Well that certainly was a fun little match there at the end. What does this mean for the United Kingdom Championship? It looks like Dunne and Andrews could be the next program for the title, however, Bate did pin the champion here. Does that make him the number one contender now? You’d think so.
Anyway, NXT will be back in Orlando Florida at Full Sail University as usual starting next week. Hopefully, the British wrestlers will be back in action again, but we now that we can look forward to seeing what is likely the final NXT match for both Sonya Deville and Ruby Riott, and Andrade “Cien” Almas will be having a championship celebration next week as well. That almost seems mandatory whenever a bad guy wins the title on NXT doesn’t it? Well, we’ll see what the new champion has in store for us next week. I’ll see you NXT time!
