The Magpies are in desperate need of points as they seek to move away from the drop zone, but they face a team they have already lost to this season
Newcastle United continue their fight against relegation on Monday as they attempt to overcome a Wolves side searching for their fourth consecutive Premier League win.
Rafa Benitez’s team are perilously close to the drop zone after 25 games and only find themselves ahead of 18th-place Southampton by virtue of goal difference. They did manage to pull off a shock victory over Manchester City two weeks ago, but followed that up with a narrow defeat against Tottenham last time out.
Wolves, meanwhile, are just behind Arsenal in seventh place and have already beaten the Magpies this season, taking all three points from their trip to St James’ Park in December thanks Matt Doherty’s 94th-minute strike.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are on a five-game unbeaten run and are brimming with confidence, with the likes of Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves, along with Doherty, all in exceptional form.

The Wolves squad should return to Premier League action fully refreshed after recently indulging in a warm-weather training camp in Marbella.
Nuno has no major injury concerns ahead of the game, but doubts linger over the availability of Diogo Jota, who has been carrying a knock, and Ruben Vinagre, who is ill.
Helder Costa could partner Raul Jimenez in attack if Jota is unavailable.

Benitez is boosted by the return to full fitness of a number of players ahead of the game, with Ki Sung-yeung, Paul Dummett, Mohamed Diame and Karl Darlow resuming training.
Record signing Miguel Almiron is in line for his debut, while Yoshinori Muto is available again having completed international duty with Japan.
However, Jonjo Shelvey and Rob Elliot remain out of contention.

Wolves have been somewhat of a surprise package in the Premier League this season and they will, no doubt, be keen to ensure their impressive performances last until the end of the campaign.
The Molineux outfit have recorded victories over the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham, as well as taking points from Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City. As mentioned, they have also beaten Newcastle already this season, snatching three points at St James’ Park, but Nuno remains wary of the Magpies.
“You can see by their last performances that Newcastle are very organised, very compact and with good players. Very good players,” the Portuguese said ahead of the game. “It’s going to be a very tough game and they’re going to demand a lot from us.”
Newcastle’s recent performances have shown a marked improvement, but they are in desperate need of points as they strive to avoid relegation. Benitez was left disappointed by the nature of his side’s defeat in the reverse fixture, but acknowledged the quality which exists in the Wolves ranks.
“They have a good manager and some very good players – they have players who have been champions of Europe and internationals at every level,” the Spanish coach told the official Newcastle website. “They may be newly-promoted but they have spent more than £100 million. They are a good team who are doing really well.
“We knew after the game (at St James’ Park) watching the replays that everything was wrong and that we didn’t deserve to lose the game but we cannot change that.
“We have to concentrate now on this one and it’s an opportunity for us because every game is like a final. This is the first one and we have to play all of the finals with everyone fully focused.”
