EDMOND, Okla. – Augustana wrestlers TJ North and Jayd Docken held onto top-five rankings in their weight class in the latest NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association. Both North and Docken earned top-three finishes at the NCAA Super Region III Championships in Mankato, Minn. this past weekend.

Defending national champion Notre Dame (Ohio) returned to the top of the ranking accumulating 157 points, while Maryville (Mo.) checked in second with 155 points.

North still holds claim to the No. 1 spot in the 125-pound class. North posted a 4-0 record at the regional tournament to improve his season mark to 23-3 which includes a perfect 16-0 against Division II competitors. The Elk Point, S.D. native secured the championship match in overtime against No. 4 Da’Wayne Robertson of Minnesota State to capture this second Super Region 3 Championship title at 125-pounds.

Docken ensured a return to the NCAA Championships with a third-place finish at the regional, and the Winner, S.D. native remains slotted fifth in the 197-pound rankings. At 27-4 on the season, Docken’s only Division II losses have come from Kenny Breaux of Lindenwood and No. 3 Julian Smith of McKendree.

Augustana finished eighth at the region tournament dropping three spots to check in at No. 15 for the final NWCA rankings.

North, Docken and Michael Lowman will now prepare for the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo. on March 13 and 14.
