The status of the NXT Tag Team titles will be addressed this week.
WWE announced last night that William Regal is appearing on Wednesday morning’s episode of WWE’s The Bump and will address the NXT Tag Team title picture: “What news will @RealKingRegal have for us this week? The #WWENXT GM stops by #WWETheBump to address the @WWENXT Tag Team Championship picture, this Wednesday at 10am ET!”
Regal also appeared on The Bump last week and announced NXT’s interim Cruiserweight Championship tournament.
Like Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin, Pete Dunne is currently unable to travel and defend the NXT Tag Team titles. Matt Riddle, who holds the NXT Tag Team titles with Dunne, has been in action on NXT. He defeated Roderick Strong on March 25 before being attacked by the debuting Indus Sher (Rinku Singh & Saurav Gurjar).
Indus Sher are managed by Malcolm Bivens (the former Stokely Hathaway). They defeated Ever-Rise (Chase Parker & Matt Martel) on NXT last week.
Riddle & Dunne were the winners of this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They then defeated Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish for the NXT Tag Team titles at TakeOver: Portland in February.
WWE’s The Bump airs on the WWE Network and WWE’s digital platforms at 10 a.m. Eastern time on Wednesdays.
