As reported by Foot Mercato, out of favour PSG full-back and former France international Layvin Kurzawa is Lyon’s leading option to replace Emerson should Chelsea convince OL to end the Brazilian’s loan in France and release him back to the London club as injury cover for Ben Chilwell.
Contacts have been made between Lyon and the Frenchman’s representatives, who had been interested in the 29-year-old defender back in the summer too, but face possible competition from Aston Villa. Although Villa’s priority choice for the role remains Lucas Digne of Everton.
Kurzawa joined PSG from Monaco in August 2015 for €25m and has tallied 153 outings so far while adding 14 goals, including a Champions League hat-trick in 2017 against Anderlecht, but the player has been barely seen this season having effectively become Paris’s fourth choice left-back under Mauricio Pochettino.
Both Napoli and Watford have also been linked with the player this month.
