Ligue 1 side Marseille on Wednesday confirmed the departure of Greek international striker Kostas Mitroglou on a free transfer, after the player and the French club agreed to mutually terminate their adventure together 6 months before the end of the player’s contract.
Mitroglou has joined Greek 1st division side Aris FC, who are currently chasing the domestic title, sitting in 2nd place at the time of writing.
The 32-year-old had a difficult 4 year career at Marseille, making 32 appearances and scoring 12 goals in all competitions, but spending his time since 2019 away on loan at Galatasaray and then PSV, spells where he majorly failed to impress.
