Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan have appointed French coach and ex-Lyon boss Bruno Genesio as their new manager on a 6-month deal until the end of the league campaign.

Genesio joins until December in the first instance and replaces Roger Schmidt. The ex-Lyon coach, who left his post at the end of last season after OL decided not to renew his contract, is represented by Pini Zahavi and had been in contention for the Newcastle United job.
