As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the deal that sees Manchester United defender Éric Bailly move to Ligue 1 club Marseille on loan for the rest of the season has been fully agreed.
Marseille will cover the main part of the centre-back’s wages while the deal also includes an option to buy worth around €10m. Bailly is currently undergoing his OM medical having arrived in France before signing his contract at the Velodrome club.
Marseille have been looking to sign the Ivorian defender for much of the transfer window and a breakthrough in talks over personal terms was made earlier this week which pushed the deal along. Although, OM have also been interested in Italian defender Francesco Acerbi with the 34-year-old Lazio man seen as a potential plan B to Bailly.
Monaco were also keen to loan the 28-year-old defender despite Manchester United’s keenness for a permanent deal, which has not come to pass, while Lyon have also been monitoring the player’s situation this summer.
