Manchester United today made progress in their efforts to sign French international Paul Pogba, with Ed Woodward, Mino Raiola and Juventus Director General Beppe Marotta having a face to face to discuss the player’s future.
According to Di Marzio, Manchester United presented Juventus with an offer worth €101m, which Juventus effectively rejected and demanded €120m, excluding bonuses and incentives.
Now it is believed that Manchester United will go away and think about their next move. That figure would not include the 20% agent commission fee that Mino Raiola is asking for, which would take the deal to be worth €144m plus bonuses.
This is the first time that Juventus have privately conceded the possibility that the player might leave.
Fabrizio Romano of Sky Italia is reporting that Mino Raiola has already reached a fee agreement for his own personal compensation with Manchester United and that Paul Pogba is ready and willing to accept Manchester United’s contract offer.
Pogba wants nothing to do with situation at the moment, currently on holiday, but it is clear that the player is at least curious and somewhat interested in a move to the Red Devils otherwise Raiola would not be orchestrating an incredibly risky move in terms of his reputation here.
Pogba to Manchester United, no longer just a dream.
