As reported by L’Équipe, in speaking with Amazon Prime Video before his Lyon side’s meeting with PSG on Sunday night, Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Paquetá (24) explained the influence of compatriot and recently departed OL sporting director Juninho on his career.
“Juninho is someone who changed my life. Not for recruiting me, but for the trust he placed in me when I arrived and for supporting my family. His departure will be hard for us, but it’s his decision – he had his reasons. I will always support him, I know he will do the same for me and the other players. It’s going to be tough but we have to stay focused on our goal and keep working. I don’t think anyone will be able to do what Juninho did here – the love of the supporters, the connection with the club… But I want to write history with Lyon, I will do everything to win titles, to engrave my name in the history of this club. I hope I can achieve 10% of what he did.”
