L’Équipe are reporting that the arrival of Laurent Blanc as new manager of Lyon was approved by soon-to-be owner of the club, John Textor.

Whilst Textor has not yet been confirmed as the new owner of Les Gones, approval is expected later this month. The American businessman okayed the departure of Peter Bosz, as well as the arrival of Blanc. The former PSG maanger’s arrival was made official on Sunday.

Textor’s approval was indispensable as the act of sacking Bosz and hiring Blanc adds further debt to his initial purchase. The American is also set to back Blanc in the coming transfer window’s in order to allow him to construct a team in his image. Blanc himself asked for such guarantees upon his arrival.

L’Équipe also report that Jean-Michel Aulas’ personal relationship with the departed Bosz held up the decision to sack the Dutch coach. However, Friday night’s draw with Toulouse finally called him into making the decision.
