What if spreading holiday cheer was as easy as using a hashtag? Thanks to celebrity chef Rachael Ray, it is. This month, the bubbly chef and TV personality issued a social media challenge to her famous friends: post a pic using the hashtag “SantaPaws2016” to raise awareness for animal rescue organizations before Christmas.
In exchange, Ray graciously offered to donate $10,000 to an animal charity of their choice courtesy of The Rachael Ray Foundation, which has already donated more than $14 million to pet charities for food, medical supplies, and treatments, among other things. Allison Williams, Lauren Conrad, and Neil Patrick Harris are just a few of the A-list stars who eagerly answered her call and took to Instagram and Twitter to show their support.
