As we reported yesterday, via Pro Wrestling Sheet, the lawsuit between CM Punk and WWE Dr. Chris Amann, which was scheduled to go to trial this month, has been delayed. The reason given for the delay is that Punk and Amann are attempting to negotiate a settlement, however, there appears to be conflicting information regarding the situation.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Punk has no intention of settling with Amann, and Johnson noted the following, h/t to Ringsidenews.com for the transcription:
The trial will likely be delayed a couple of days. How long that is? I don’t know. Usually when a trial is schedule to start and suddenly they hold off for a couple of days, that is sometimes a sign that the two sides are trying to work out & negotiate some sort of settlement. We are told that is not the case and the CM Punk side is not looking to settle in any way, shape or form. The CM punk side has said they are going to trial.
As of this writing, there is no word on when the trial is set to resume, but it was also noted that CM Punk’s next UFC fight, which is just three weeks away at UFC 225, might have also played a part in the trail being delayed.
