Prime minister Narendra Modi visited the Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand and spent a day meditating in the cave in May. The demand soared after Modi’s visit in the final days of elections, and his pictures became an instant hit.

Now, the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) has started the construction of another cave 15 metres away, “seeing the demand”, reported Indian Express.

B L Rana, General Manager (Administration), GMVN, told Indian Express that before Modi visited the cave, it had received just two bookings. He said that since then the demand has increased and that the cave authorities are doing advance bookings now.
