According to César Luis Merlo, Brest have found an agreement with Argentinian club CA Talleres for the loan of goalkeeper Joaquín Blázquez (21), who will serve as a replacement for Gautier Larsonneur (25), who left the Breton side for Valenciennes. The move is reported to consist of a loan with an option to buy.

The young keeper has already spent time in Europe, having spent a year on loan with the Valencia U19 squad in the 2019/20 season. While he is yet to make a professional debut in Europe, the Argentinian youth international may need to be patient, since Brest’s first-choice goalkeeper position is currently occupied by Dutchman Marco Bizot (31), who played every single league game last season.

Should the deal go through, Blázquez would become Brest’s fifth signing of the summer, following the arrival of Karamoko Dembélé (19) from Celtic, Mathias Pereira Lage (25) from Angers, Noah Fadiga (22) from Heracles Almelo, and Pierre Lees-Melou (29) from Norwich.
