SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana wrestling head coach Jason Reitmeier has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The schedule features eight NSIC duals, three dual tournaments, and five open tournaments.

The Vikings will open the regular season by competing in the Daktronics Open in Brookings, S.D. on Nov. 6 at 9 a.m.

Augustana stays in South Dakota for the Dakota Wesleyan Open on Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.

On Nov. 19, Augustana travels to Kearney, Neb. for the Holiday Inn Open. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m.

The Vikings will wrestle in the South Dakota Showcase at the Sanford Pentagon on Dec. 4. Augustana will dual against Dakota Wesleyan, Northern State and South Dakota State.

Augustana will open its home slate by hosting the Augie Duals on Saturday, Dec. 10. The duals will begin at 10 a.m. at the Elmen Center. Augustana will welcome Nebraska-Kearney, Morningside, Northwestern (Iowa), Truman State, and Southwest Minnesota State.

Augustana will head east for the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Ind. On Dec. 17-18.

After a week off, the Vikings will finish out the 2016 calendar year at the Warrior-Viking Open in Fremont, Neb. on Dec. 31.

Augustana has its first conference dual of the season at Northern State on Jan. 7 in Aberdeen, S.D. The Vikings will also travel to Marshall, Minn. on Jan. 21to take on Southwest Minnesota State, to Bismarck, N.D. on Jan. 28 to go up against the University of Mary, and to Minot, N.D. on Jan. 29 to wrestle Minot State.

Sandwiched in-between the conference road duals, the Vikings head back to Kearney, Neb. for the UNK Midwest Duals on Jan. 14.

The Vikings will host four NSIC duals to conclude the regular season. Augustana will take on Upper Iowa on Feb. 5, MSU Moorhead on Feb. 10, Minnesota State on Feb. 11 and St. Cloud State on Feb. 16 to round out the regular season. All home duals will be held at the Elmen Center.
