L’Équipe report that AS Monaco’s #1 goalkeeping priority in the upcoming summer transfer window is the signing of 23-year-old Serbian shot-stopper Predrag Rajkovic.
The Maccabi Tel Aviv goalkeeper is well-liked by Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim, but both Rennes and Sevilla are also looking to acquire the player’s services, with Rajkovic valued at around €5m.
AS Monaco, who had been looking at making a bid for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan, have been priced out there, as they are only willing to spend up to €10m to €15m on a goalkeeper this summer.
For Brittany side Rennes, the contracts of 2nd and 3rd choice goalkeepers Abdoulaye Diallo (27) and Edvinas Gertmonas (22) are expiring next month and the club intends to let them both leave for free.
Current 1st choice Tomas Koubek (26), a hero in the Coupe de France final, also appears to be on the chopping-block, with Rennes President Létang and manager Julien Stéphan in agreement that they would like to rid of him, according to the French newspaper.
Their primary target is also Rajkovic, but Létang views Paul Bernardoni (Bordeaux) and Brice Samba (SM Caen) as potentially attractive alternatives…
