In a Twitter post on Thursday, Andrade appears to have confirmed that he requested his release from WWE.

“The rumors are true and I don’t know what the future holds but I want to make my dreams come true,” Andrade wrote. “thank you for giving me so much support these last days.”

Dave Meltzer confirmed last week that Andrade had requested to be released from WWE. Meltzer reported that WWE denied Andrade’s release request.

Andrade hasn’t appeared on WWE television since being laid out by “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt on Raw in October of last year. Andrade’s loss to Angel Garza on that Raw episode is the most recent time that Andrade has wrestled. Andrade wasn’t drafted to Raw or SmackDown in October’s WWE Draft.

In 2015, it was announced that Andrade (formerly known as La Sombra) had signed with WWE. He made his NXT debut in 2016 and won the NXT Championship the following year. Andrade was called up to the WWE main roster in 2018. He’s a one-time United States Champion in WWE.
