According to PWInsider.com, a pretty crazy situation took place during Friday night’s AAW Pro Wrestling event at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago.
During a Sami Callihan vs Jimmy Jacobs match, the two stars brawled to the outside, and at one point, took the fight up onto a stage usually used for musical performances. At one point, Callihan began stacking chairs on top of Jacobs to set up some type of offensive move, but building management “freaked out”, and one member of management actually grabbed a microphone and demanded that Callihan stop breaking the chairs in the venue. The finish of the match was then done in the ring, with Callihan winning.
After the match, building security demanded that Callihan be removed from the venue due to the incident, but Callihan thought the entire situation was a work and began shoving members of security. At one point, security made it clear they wanted Callihan out, and even noted they had a gun and would use it if necessary.
After Callihan was ejected, the next match saw Eddie Kingston and Jeff Cobb face The Besties in the World, and the crowd got back into the show. However, the backstage situation was said to be very tense, and at one point building management almost stopped the entire show with the intention of ejecting AAW completely. Cooler heads eventually, prevailed, however, and the event finished as advertised.
