Tonight’s stacked series premiere of AEW Dynamite on TNT was headlined by a six-man tag team match featuring Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, collectively known as The Elite, taking on Chris Jericho and former Impact world tag team champions Santana and Ortiz, formerly known as LAX.
Just moments into the match, things took an unexpected turn as the unhinged Jon Moxley made good on his promise to appear, once again brutally assaulting Omega when he least expected it. The two brawled throughout the arena into a VIP section where fans were lounging, before the former WWE world champion dropped Omega head-first through a glass table.
Despite Omega being taken out of action, the bout continued as a 3-on-2 handicap match, essentially, and while the Young Bucks did their absolute best to nearly win AEW’s first ever main event, a lightning quick Judas Effect from the champion knocked them out cold.
