On November 13th, New Japan Pro Wrestling Stars Jushin “Thunder” Liger and Former Olympian “Monster Morning” Manabu Nakanishi made a visit to the National Center for Child Health and Development, Japan’s largest pediatric and maternity hospital. The appearance, where the two wrestlers signed autographs and made themselves available to the kids, staff, and the parents with sick children.
Despite being in full costume, the children did not seem afraid of Liger, whose character is based on the Go Nagai anime from 1989.
The visit was said to have “Powered us up” by those who reside and work in the hospital where research is done on childhood illnesses and diseases, and children and the very young afflicted with illnesses have help with their lives and hopes for treatment and cures.
