As seen during last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Finn Balor lost the Intercontinental Championship to Bobby Lashley. Lashley was able to regain the title when Lio Rush interfered and ended up costing Balor the match via distraction. It was a peculiar decision to switch the title back to Bobby Lashley. Balor only won the title when he beat Lashley & Rush during the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view a couple of weeks ago. Several fans have been asking why WWE would take the title off of Balor so soon after he won it, but it sounds like this may not have been a last-minute decision by WWE. The company may have decided to do the title change yesterday because they now have different plans for Balor.
Chatting w/ a source this morning. One notable quote: “I’m figuring they took the IC off of Finn for a reason, I think they have something for him at Mania”
So…. what do you guys think?

Finn Balor may not be holding the Intercontinental Championship anymore, but there may be a different program lined up for him. According to WrestleVotes, they have spoken with one source who believes that WWE took the title off of him because there are plans for him at WrestleMania 35 that don’t involved the IC title. Could Balor be Kurt Angle’s final opponent ever? Maybe he will be added to the Universal Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins, or maybe “The Demon King” will take on The Undertaker. There is no word on what the plans are for Balor at WrestleMania this year as of yet. Last year, Balor faced Seth Rollins and The Miz in a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship during WrestleMania 34.
WWE is no stranger to working with major celebrities. Just last week SNL Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che appeared on Raw, and it looks like fans can expect to see another star appear on WWE programming later this year. According to a report from Fightful, WWE and rapper Eminem have come to terms an agreement which will see the Hip Hop artist contribute to the soundtrack for this year’s WWE 2K20 video game. Eminem will also be appearing on WWE shows later this year to help promote SmackDown’s premiere on the Fox network in October. The company is also reportedly creating a customized championship for the replica which will be presented to the rapper on a later date.
