SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Sussex County man is accused of asking farmers if he could have sex with their animals, and then booby-trapping their driveways when they told him no.
Richard Decker, 31, of Vernon, was arrested earlier this month after sending emails and letters to barns and stables around Sussex County asking for permission to have sex with the animals, the NJ Herald reported. Once the farmers said no, Decker is accused of leaving metal spikes in their driveways to puncture the farmers’ tires.
Decker faces a number of charges, including procuring an animal in any kind of sexual manner or initiate any sexual conduct with an animal, cyber harassment and unlawful possession of explosives, according to the county jail website.

The incidents date to August 2018, the publication reported. Decker is said to have shown a special affinity for the cows and horses. Once rejected, Decker would leave negative online reviews and booby traps.
Vernon Police warned residents about the tire-slashing spikes in February 2019, saying they had been left at the entrances to farm roads and driveways.
