ORLANDO, FL — Two construction workers died after falling about 80 feet when a scaffolding collapsed at a hotel under construction in Orlando early Wednesday morning, according to officials. The scaffolding collapse happened just outside Disney property, Orange County Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles told The Associated Press.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation to determine that no foul play was involved, Ingrid Tejada-Montforte, a spokesperson for the department, told reporters.
Tejada-Montforte said there were about three or four workers on the scaffolding pouring concrete when the scaffolding gave way. The hotel under construction is planned to be eight floors, Tejada-Montforte said, adding that the workers were on the seventh floor when the scaffolding collapsed.
A third worker hung on when the scaffolding collapsed and was able to climb to safety, according to the Orange County Fire Rescue.
The victims are men in their early 30s, according to Tejada-Montforte. Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victims.
The hotel under construction is in the 14900 block of Chelonia Parkway.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
