Months after leaving the White House, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are demonstrating why they will always be First Couple Goals in a heart-melting speech.
While accepting the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation’s Profile in Courage Award in Boston on Sunday evening, the former commander-in-chief couldn’t resist giving a loving shout-out to his wife during his speech.

“I also want to thank Michelle Obama for, after the presidency, sticking with me,” the dad-of-two said of life post-White House. He continued, “Because I think she felt an obligation to the country to stay on, but once her official duties were over, it wasn’t clear.”

The former POTUS, who is the third president to receive the honor after George H.W. Bush and Gerald Ford, then effused, “I love my wife and I’m grateful for her. I do believe that it was America’s great good fortune to have her as First Lady.”
Sounds like these two lovebirds are definitely enjoying retirement!

Former President JFK’s daughter Caroline Kennedy presented Mr. Obama with the honor, saying, “Today, when many doubt the integrity of our elected leaders, this award is more important than ever.”
Her son, Jack Schlossberg, also had high words of praise for the former president as the champion of renewed youth involvement in politics.
“Without President Obama, I might still be sitting on my couch eating Doritos and watching sports,” the 24-year-old said.
