The LFP have announced that they have decided to rescind OGC Nice defensive midfielder Nampalys Mendy’s red card.

The player was sent off for supposedly lashing out at Fabien Lemoine in Ligue 1 on Sunday during Les Aiglons’ 4-1 win over St Étienne.

Replays showed that Lemoine had in fact play acted and that Mendy had not committed a foul. Lemoine has now been summoned to the an LFP disciplinary hearing to explain his actions.

Nice also had another player sent off during that match, Maxime Le Marchand. The French central defender’s suspension has been shortened to just one match, with the LFP deciding again that the referee in question had made an error.
