Nice have completed the signing of Monaco winger Allan Saint-Maximin for a deal believed to be worth around €10m.
The young winger completed his medical on Monday afternoon and officially put pen to paper on a deal that will take him up to the year 2020. The 20-year-old has been with Monaco since June 2015, when he joined from fellow Ligue 1 club Saint-Étienne for €5m, gaining a reputation for being a direct winger with a lot of potential.
Last season, Saint-Maximin spent the year out on loan at Bastia scoring three goals in 34 appearances in the league as the Corsican side was relegated. Whilst the winger was part of a poor team, he stood out due to his clear ability when running at defenders and basically being the only ray of light out of an otherwise dreadful season.
Now joining a club with a good reputation for developing young players, Saint-Maximin may excel this season and if he is given more game time and the freedom to be creative under Lucian Favre, he could flourish and prove to be a bargain of a signing.
