RMC Sport report this afternoon that Reims striker Hugo Ekitike has agreed in principle to join Newcastle this summer, with the two clubs already coming to an initial agreement.

The outlet claims that an agreement has been found for the 19-year-old’s transfer over a fee of €36m plus €10m in bonuses. L’Union report that actually the deal is a €38m complete package. Ekitike had turned down a move to the Premier League side this winter, and decided instead to see out his first season as a professional with his formative club.
With 10 goals this season, having missed out on several months due to injury in the second half of the year, the French youth international has been one of the breakout stars of the campaign.
