According to sources contacted by Get French Football News, Premier League side Leeds United intend to make a second firm proposal next week to Paris Saint-Germain for centre-forward Arnaud Kalimuendo (20) who had an initial bid turned down five weeks ago that fell short of the Parisian’s €25m asking price. The player is also being pursued aggressively by Stade Rennais – and is yet to decide his future after striking up a good early relationship with Christophe Galtier at PSG.

Kalimuendo’s PSG future still remains unclear. Despite a successful spell on loan at RC Lens where he scored 21 goals in 65 games, the young striker could still be heading for the exit door. Questioned on his future during the club’s pre-season tour of Japan, Christophe Galtier said, “I’m more than happy with him. He’s doing great, but then there’s the market. We’ll see the club’s and the player’s decision.”

On the Rennes side the Bretons are prepared to invest between €25m and €30m on bringing in a marquee striker – having let go of prospect Mathys Tel to Bayern Munich for a lucrative fee. Les Rouge et Noir are still aggressively chasing the young striker according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.
