In the post-match press conference, Danilo Pereira, who started the fixture in a three-man defence for the Ligue 1 champions, admitted that the hectic schedule was taking a toll on the players. As quoted by RMC Sport, he said:

“It was a difficult match with a very big atmosphere, a team that pressed well. Our start to the match was not good, too soft. We missed movement when the ball comes out.

“The opponent presses well in those moments. We tried to have more movement afterwards. When we’re like that, the game is less difficult. Physically, it’s difficult too because we play a lot of matches every three days. When the matches are physical, you feel tired.”

Tjaronn Chery drew the first blood with a fantastic opener in the 24th minute of the match. Nevertheless, the trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Neymar notched up the first, second, and third of the night for the French side, respectively, to complete the recovery. Thanks to the victory, PSG stay at the top of their table with six points.
